My friend has this strange problem, which looks like it could be a virus. He can connect to the internet, but he is not able to download anything at all, or he's not able to disconnect. In order to disconnect he has to pull the plug! So he is unable to download latest .dat files for his AV software. Has anyone ever seen this before? It's WinXP btw...

Saw a similar thing with a W2K machine. User couldn't disconnect. Turned out he had the blaster virus. Tell him/her to do a search for the file msblaster.exe, if it's there he has the virus.
