Most of these channels have had launch dates of 2000 and 2001 and 2003 but never happened. Some will certainly launch in the future and hopefully these will be the less tackier ones. What I want to see on Sky soon is the arrival of ITV Channel 4 and Channel 5 on Irish screens now that they have scuppered the ftv card option. If sky dont get the finger out on this issue soon, they will only force the customers back to the dreaded NTL or Chorus

    NO!

None of these channels have had launch dates of 2000 and 2001 except maybe the EMAP radio stations and the Wrestling Channel.

Rumours about the imminent launch of the Romance channel, Horror, Espn, STC, Jazz FM etc on sky have been doing the rounds on the net for as long as I can remember but as yet have not happened. It will be nice if they ever come to fruition. While I have no objection to the arrival of Tamil and Hindu channels, I don't think I will be spending alot of my time watching them. I suspect that these persistant rumours about popular channel launches are fueled by Sky in order to try to keep peoples interest from waning completly in their packages.
The mos important thing for most Sky viewers in Ireland is to get access to ITV 4 & 5 via their subscription. I would urge all people on these boards to continue to pester annoy and irritate sky until these are delivered.

Would ESPN Classic Sport be a extra subscribtion channel if it arrives ??

i would imagine family package because it wouldn't have premium content. i say this after seeing the French and Italian versions testing. just old classic sporting action. wonderful really

Channel 5 tend to show some of the more hard to see Liverpool Friendly matches and sometimes they are the only ones showing Liverpool UEFA cup games so I'd very much like to get it.

Well, that's where real fans and 'other' fans differ. Us real fans will watch Liverpool no matter how sh1te they are :(

In fairness to Channel 5 they have improved a lot lately, showing
good documentaries at peak time and represent for the first time
a real alternative to the other four uk terrestrials.
TV3 should take note and show less US junk and more programmes that stimulate the brain.....they would never have been given a licence to brodcast in the UK with the type of programme line up they get away with here.

yeah, what is it with TV3 and their American Tear Jerker Drama crap. Nearly every ad you see for movies is another 'The Blind Girl who lost her dad' or 'Little Joey and his 3 legged Dog Lucky' kind of crap. You'd end up comitting suicide if you looked at TV3 all the time.

More reasons they should allow us to edit the EPG (local view anyway b4 smartass goes all techy) and remove channels we dont want.

when i said how many care about Channel 5 i meant not many would have seen it, know what the content is like when compared to Channel 4 and ITV which are available to a lot of the population with years. i would love it for MLB and their football coverage. getting NASN for me would mean dropping something else

According to the Paramount Comedy channel website, they will be providing a new channel, imaginativley titled Paramount 2. It's advertised as a new channel, but it seems to be regurgitating the same old tripe yet again. In fact, I don't really see any difference between it and the current Paramount channel.

It looks more like Paramount +1 hour.

It's the exact same as Sky One Mix is to Sky One, rather than being just a +1 channel. (same shows but @ different times)

Sky is a total waste of money, the repeats bog it down. Why not show a movie channel for each decade and show older films as well. I saw the same film on three times this week. And they dont show newer stuff at later times, allways a fight in ur house to watch football etc.

Second box at 225 euros come on, they giive new customers free installation why not give it to customers that have been with them for 10 years!

Football coverage is second to none but bar that, what does sky offer? Utv, CH4 and Channel 5 would be a good start for us irish people

what does Sky offer? i tend to like quite a lot of stuff being shown spread across many channels. History and Discovery being 2 of my favourites

There was a paramount 2 "preview" on before 2pm
which consisted solely of the paramount 2 logo

I'd pay a 1/2 Family pack for half a dozen documentary channels, but Sky's Knowledge pack at only 5 euro less than Family pack is bad value and has non-documentary junk I can't turn off.

So occasionally I opt for the Family Pack (Cold Turkey again at the moment!)
