    Hay Mr. Flibble,

From what I can remember and it has only been 4 years ago, but after many hours sitting wrecking my memory in front of computers, no you cant..

You are allowed go into the chamber of the Great Pyramid and walk around the Sphinx.. Cant remember the cost of either, only did the Chamber walk, really cool as long as you are not expecting much. You have to pay to bring in cameras and there is no place to leave them (nowhere safe anyway). Once again cant remember how much this charge was but it annoyed me and the others I was with, we were broke though.

If you like horses or camels, there is an option to take guided trips (which include the entrance fee) into the dessert to see the Pyramids from a different angle but beware because you will be given (in my experience) crazy horses and your guides dont really care less about you... my saddle came loose half way thru a gallop and I nearly ended my trip with a broken neck, the guide was more concerned about his money than me sprawled out on the sand..

When you get into Ciaro, you will be harassed (maybe slightly mean but true) by locals who can give you special rates and prices to do everything, check out the prices yourself as it is a lot cheaper but these guys are very convincing.. If you have a student card or Under 26 card the price of the whole thing is alot less..

Once again I cant remember how much it was and I was really broke but the experience was definitely worth the money..

Hope this is more use than I think it is..

    Cannon

Is that no you can't climb the great pyramid, or you can' t climb any of the pyramids?

No you can't climb the great pyramid. They have big no climbing signs and armed guards around it.Didn't see anyone climbing the other one so i'm guessing you can't climb that either.

Sorry, just proves it was not much help :(

Yeah Acidflash is right, cant climb any of them, did not see the armed guards though..

It is pretty impressive just walking around them though.. and to be very honest when I was there, there was a Dominos Pizza with a wicked view from the upstairs seating area..

Go to Cairo and have some expensive franchised American food while looking at some of the oldest buildings in the world.. sounds somewhat disgraceful

You will see the armed guards when you climb the pyramids!

If you want to go inside the great pyramid go early as the tickets sell out quickly (yeah I would have thought it closed at a certain time but it closed because their tickets ran out...). I stole a spoon full of Sphinx/Pyramid sand but got scorned at by the Egyptians.

I recommend you go to the Khan al Khalili market and smoke a sheesha with a strong coffee. Much fun.
