I am looking for a free package to catalogue my CD collection- anybody have any experience of any systems out there or suggestions? Using Google I did come across http://www.brothersoft.com/Information_Management_Databases_CD_Catalogue_Database_9127.html but, well, it doesn't work....

I know you could just cobble something together in Access or MySQL, but if there's something out there already, why reinvent the wheel and all that.

Well what I simply do everytime I burn a new archive in work is:

    dir /s/b > c:\archives\dvd??.txt

I don't see the need for anything more complicated... if I want to find a particular file I simply do a text search in that folder for the required CD/DVD number...

presuming you mean data CDS :)

For my audio cds I put together my own app (as you said in MySQL)...

    (hmm must update that soon)
