RTE have a tiny tiny handful of good programs. Its rare they come up with a good formula, but its great when they do.

I've really liked their "The Restaurant" show on Tuesdays (last episode was tonight). It was a good idea, and fun to watch....

Rod Squad (documentary on RTE1 on Tuesday nights about Carlysle Utd.) is pretty entertaining....

Bachelors Walk (3rd series coming soon) is excellent.

I know there are some fans of Fair City out there (which in fairness, isn't the worst of them).

    Any others?

Might as well mention the worst too... C***n F***r etc. :)

    - Dave.

Paths to Freedom was really very good.

A lot of the True Lives and Arts Lives documentarys are great as well.

There was a program a while ago that was made by the new media dept in RTE but the name escapes me. It was entirely shot on dv and edited with desktop video programs and it was withdrawn due to an industrial dispute but later aired in full. That program was brilliant, if rte had any sense they would re-hire the makers to their entertainment dept.

Yeah that was good but I think @last TV was better. Cann't think of the name of that show, ****. It was an RTE Interactive production.

I thought X-it poll was underrated
The Den (Best Kids TV ever, Bar none)
Fair City is also underrated as a soap, after all it is only a soap.
DDU or Making The Cut (DDU was much better)

We of course forget about TG4

    Ros Na Run
    90"
RiRa (Before it was a scetch show)

    And TV3

    well

    em Still waiting

maybe Dunphy will get a mention (You never know)

    Oh might as well, Adgenda

I think this is a general thing, its just that in Ireland we don't make as much TV as Britian and America, so the bad shine more brightly here.
    C***n F***r etc

    ?????????????

    The Worst

    The Lyric Board
    The Weakest Link
    Ireland AM
    You're A Star
Could mention the sit-coms but well thats just such a cliche
    On Home Ground

The very first two I thought of when I saw this post.

Paths To Freedom as already mentioned, and I have to say Giles/Dunphy on the football coverage are excellent.

Oh, Apres Match as well. That count?

Anybody remember The Electric Ballroom music show? That was good.

    Three words

    Podge

    and

    Rodge

the best programme to come out of ireland.
Then there was the usual repeats untill you just don't care any more and the likes.

But definatly the best Irish made prog.

The only RTE-made show I ever watch is 'reeling in the years' and I guess even that doesn't count because it's just a bunch of news clips cobbled together.

But RTE did make most of the clips before they were clobbled together.

Their just allowing you make up for lost time. :D
