I heard something about priest but I cant imagine that, thats the thing about Irish gigs they never have decent support apart from deep purple. There will probably be a **** Irish band like red lemon or the walls.

/Me hopes against hope that when dave mustaine said priest he meant judas priest...

    Man, that'd be so cool...

the rumour i heard was Sonata Arctica are supporting.

theyre Scandanavian Power metal, which pretty much draws all its influence from the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (aka Maiden, Preist and similar other bands from the early 80s.)

theyre very technical (like most power metal) and very cheesy (like most power metal). i find theyre more intelligent than most other power metal bands, rather than puch yer fist in the air stuff

other people on Rock/Metal will be able to tell you more about them or even correct me if im wrong.....()

There's no way Priest would be supporting Maiden.
For starters, Priest are only going into the studio with Halford to start recording in September so they won't be touring until next year at the earliest, methinks

The concert is part of their Give 'Em Ed Tour and on the U.S part of the tour they have Motorhead and Dio supporting. Love if Motorhead were to support.

I'm afraid it's not the Give me 'ead... tour. They're starting a Dance Of Death tour with dublin, which probably means totally different support.

According to Kerrang, Funeral for a Friend are supporting Iron Maiden on their UK tour. Whether this includes the Dublin date is yet to be seen.

    I certainly hope it doesn't.

Damn, some of my friends were convinced Motorhead will be supporting. If it turns out to be some new wee band, they won't be happy...

I doubt Motörhead would have ever supported Iron Maiden on this leg. They have quite a following in the UK and Ireland, but in the United States they're not as popular, so supporting Iron Maiden is realistic. However that lineup in pretty impressive.

There should be a second support act because Funeral for a Friend haven't released an album yet so keep your hopes up for something good.
