On Harcourt Street. Any time Eircom, NTL, the ESB or Bord Gais need to maintain or repair cables they'll have to stop the tram. Or sometimes, according to Michael Sheedy (RPA project director).

The Luas tracks overlap the clear pathway - or "swept path" - required by the utility companies to access cables without interfering with the trams.
This just shows how authortive journalists are on technical matters. Trams create "swept paths" (they area of ground covered by any part of the tram, especially articulated sections), cables don't.
