Kinsale is the cookery centre of Ireland.... I was in Jim Edwards a few years ago, lovely food & nicely served.

Have a look at the website for more info.

thanks KoNiT, that's what I was looking for, a personal experience, always better than just reading up on a place

I hope you've booked your bed! Lovely town, I hope your there for a few days with weather like this, cos you'll need it to absorb it all.

We went on spec & ended up 2 miles out of town, nice B&B, she even dropped us into town that evening.

yes KoNiT, I booked a B&B yesterday, and that was difficult! the place is nearly booked out, but I managed to get one eventually.

well, I'm off to Prague tomorrow, so keep the suggestions coming eveybody, I'll read them when I get back!
    thanks

I was in the Blue Haven mentioned in that link from koNiT.

The seafood there was absolutely yummy, and the best chowder I've had to date :)
But there are loads of restaurants, so try them all, kinsale is a very nice place.

Theres a good Jazz Band that used to play in Actons hotel near the quay on sundays.
I wouldn't normally listen to jazz, but when it's live and you are having a home-made scone with strawberry jam and cream with a pot of fresh coffee in front of you it's the biz, especially for unwinding,if you've had a tough Saturday night in cork:p

I would highly recommend the Blue Haven, superb food when I stayed there last year for a few nights.

Also had fantastic food in Man Friday (a little stroll out of the town), service was okay considering they were absolutely jammers.

good choice, kinsale is great! (i live here)

i think the blue haven is good - great food - but jim edwards isn't. well, the food is ok, but service is terrible. only go there if you plan to wait for an hour or so for food....

the white house and max's wine bar are 2 places that id highly recommend.
