I was formatting my hard drive and reinstalling windows there and after I formatted, in DOS, I managed to put segragations into the hard drive (three 1 GB and one 4GB).

How do I get rid of them?

    Thanks,
    Conor.

    2 ways to do this.

easy way, use a papartition magic pro or soemthing similar, this is a gui program that allows you to make/remove/alter partitions on your hard disk, under windows.

harder way, use fdisk on either a windows disk or windows boot disk. boot using the cd/floppy, don' t try to install windows yet, when you get to the command prompt type "fdisk.exe" remove all the partitions and create 1 new partition, problem solved.

    Obvious to whom?

Hes asking for help im just making sure its what i thought it was.

If you want to delete partitions, use a program like Partition

    Magic, or partition commander.

Also what OS are you using? Win 95/98/2000/XP

    Home/Professional ?

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I may well be) but isn't it true that partitions set up in FDISK can only be deleted by FDISK? I've never used partition magic or any of those fellows but I was working under the ssumption that they were ops system based so therefore could only change partitions set up in ops based applications?

yeap, you can now change the partition size and delete them with ease using a program like partition magic pro, it's handy and easy enough to do.

Man - I'm gonna get me some of that partition magic action so... what a delightful change from having to re-partition and reformat - Hurrah!!!
