freddy vs jason

in freddy verus jason we see Robert Englund who has always played Freddy in the Nightmare on Elm Street face off against Jason Voorhees of the Friday the 13th movies.

as the title shows the pair will face off and also have some fun along the way. in a clip in the movie a guy walks out of his house to see what is in the rattling bushes and turns and sees a goat at his doorstep. at this point he has wandered onto the street and faces Freddy and it looks like the guy will die but freddy lets him run and says "i've got to gain my strength, i'll jason have some fun."

strange things about the movie are

1. it looks like the setting is in present day suburbs but in the latest jason movie Jason X it is based in the future? and he has had a face life or face gone (you get it if you see the movie) and has a metal mask and metal arm and leg.

2. in the movie Jason is on the real plain of existance for he is real. but Freddy attacks you in another plain for he kills you in your nightmares and therefore the name. but the strange thing is how do they face off for Jason would not fall asleep.

this is a film which fans of the horror genre will like and will see two of the biggest stars face off. hopefully they will make another with Freddy vs Eddy vs Jason vs Mike and maybea new character who has the power of the twins in the matrix.

go see this movie on the 22nd of august for it will clearly be good.

3. what the hel! has humor got to do with freddy vs jason you do know the characters no there not from austin powers they are horror characters.

When i mean amused i mean look at the goddamn name FREDDY VS JASON the whole idea seems a joke and freddy by the 3rd film (or the 1st if u have high standards) is more of a comic villian (comic as in humour not comic as in the graphic novel) rather then scary. A film crossing 2 major film characters will have hosts of cameos and inuendos....sheesh

Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street entered the realms of comedy long ago. Halloween has only more recently gone in for the "feck it let's have a laugh" approach adopted by the other two (Michael Myers survives decapitation in order to kill people on reality TV...), but none of those series are in any way serious horror any more. To be honest they're not even popcorn movies that occasionally make you jump in your seat, because they're so predictable. They're merchandise, cashing in on a name. They're not movies, they're franchises.

I didn't mind Jason X because it was humorous. If Freddy vs Jason has no humour in as you seem to think then the lameness of it will be unprecedented in horror movie history.
Jason, Freddy, Michael. Also known as the Three Stooges. Please tell me you don't honestly think it's really a horror movie?

By the way, your first post was a simple plug for the movie, and a list of things you don't understand about it. Generally a review will tell us a little about the actors and acting, the dialog, tone of the movie... generally weighing up the pros and cons, instead of just plugging it. Hope this clears things up a little

There are only 2 reasons I'd got to see this film, 1- if it was for free and 2- to see who wins(although probably niether as to leave the opportunity of a sequel)

Nah Chump, here's how it will end.

- Bear in mind I've not read any details about the movie except the general story. I'm basing this on how damn predictable these movies are. -

The obligatory teenage girl will defeat both. This girl will be hot, but not the hottest one in the movie (the really good looking girl will get killed). Given that the latest Halloween movies have started including male rappers, I have no doubt that Freddy vs Jason will have a female rap/R&B star defeat Freddy and Jason (in order to compete with Halloween ).
Anyway... as she walks off into the sunset with her guy, Jason will leap out of his body bag/up off the coroner's table, and Freddy will laugh, reassuring us that both franchises will in fact survive to sell T-shirts and lunchboxes another day...

In case you can't tell my hopes for an unpredictable and exciting horror movie aren't too high.

true horror movies have lackened in the jump factor meaning predictability and the only thing that makes people jump is surprise. answer this, would...
a) a cat suddenly jumping a your face remember you had no knowledge of the cat scare you more than...
b) a mast murderer slowly walking towards you, guess what he intends to do, yes put his fingers in your eye sockets and peel off your face and wear it as his own

personally a) for me due to the fact of the surprise element

the reason horror has turned to slasher i.e. a thing for teens gorey but not nightmareish (not a real word but you know what i mean) is predictablity yes hollywood has made everything from are nightmares into reality back then the thing was scary now you would laugh, the film evil dead scary now funny with a kickass sound track.

the only true horror movie that i addmit scared me was jaws, the element of surprise is in it, the element of realism is in it, the element that this huge killing machine is outthere can scare. so this is why people believe the horror genre is dead and it is becoming true

if only hollywood could figure out special effects and a twisted plot don't scare but surprise does

also stop insulting me for it is very annoying and no one backs me up boo hoo (me like sarcasism)

1. your original post if u read it gives the impression u have the i.q of a muppet which i think some of the regulers have down to a point system. (0.00008 or sumetin) and i u reread it urself u can prob agree with our view cause it passes of as either a corporate PR gig (think clerks) or a 12 year old who saw a trailer to a 18s film. and his first 18s film at that (and 12 is still too old to be seeing 18s films for the first time u should be on your 3rd porno by then...) and even worse then that it shows nothing to proove you've seen the film. I was thinking of seeing this for a laugh when i'm seriously drunk. And finally your orignal review oozes of this admiration for the film as if its as scary as The Shining or IT...(fear the clown)


2. Your new post is a bit more intelligent but some points i feel are either confusing or misguided. firstly evil dead is meant to be funny though the 1st tried to be scary it went all out humour for the other.

the reason for the whole murderer stalking thing is for suspense cause if done really well can build fear of knowing whats coming up (your imagination) the failure is now in the execution being sloppy, they use cgi and it looks bad OR it just looks stupid. Perfect example Jeepers Creepers

starts well with a build up but then goes all stupid with monster etc

And the reason for Jaws success was that you did not see the bloody shark, in the end it was rubber and but the parts where u see no shark is the truly frightening parts. The same with Aliens u see part of it but never it fully till the end. Perfect way to build suspense and fear.



the whole surprise idea of yours does work if the atmosphere is set before hand But it wouldnt work more then once in a film and a film dont work on one scare...

ok how about, the seen where a weird snake with a face comes due to freddy well i think it was a snake you jusat don't know with freddy. also the scene in which all the girls are sleeping and get up but suddenly they are all wearing masks.

jason is set alight as well by a guy cant remember the name. also usually the best scenes are on the trailer which i have not seen yet.

dam my ways of not changing the channel every five seconds.
