Please im in a real pickle a the mo you see the tv link in my room is not working. Now you see the red light is on and the picture is perfect and always has been. The link is about a year and a half old but has always worked , and to my knowledge is hadnt been knocked out of place or dropped. I have refitted both RF heads on the either side of the cable and still no joy. I have also checked the settings of the RF outlets and still no luck so please help.:(

Is the remote from your room working on the main box?

Yes my remote in my room works perfectly on the box downstairs, and i tried the remote from downstairs on the tv link.

The only thing that I can think of is that maybe your box received an update which some times resets it. Did you turn on the box recently and see channel 998?

You said you checked the settings of the RF outlets? Did you check that the 9v output is on? If not try the following.

    Press Services
Press 4 0 1 folled by select - this is the hidden installer menu.
There is a RF Output option and you can turn on/off the 9v output.

If you have already checked this, then I've no idea what it could be.

    Good luck.

This happened me too with my Global TVlink and I had to replace it. I now use a Triax version which does the same job. Not sure if this relates to your problem but you say that the LED is lit meaning that it's getting fed the power from the digibox.

Plug the link directly into the RF2 port and block the IR receiver on the digibox and see if it works. If it does, it's a fault possibly in the wiring, if it doesn't then possibly the link has died.

is your box a Grundig by any chance? I've just come across one where the box itself was faulty.

I had the same problem with a Grundig box. An installer friend suggested that as the box is in a cabinet it could be overheating.

He was right - by moving the box to where it had more ventilation solved the problem

Thanx lads for the great help but the problem still persists , To answer the question i have a grundug box, although i dont see how bad ventilation could stop the tv link from working that seems a bit odd if so. Now on wednesday night it suddenly started to work but it had reverted back to the same problem last night which was a real pain in the arse all together. I decided to replace the heads ( this was all done in an absolute temper and whilst shedding buckets of sweat in this fabulous weather) female and male sockets and did this 4 times before the light came back on the tv link, the problem i think i am having is the length of the copper and outer brown plastic, if possible i am now swaying towards this being the problem so could somebody if they could please post a detailed spec of how to wire the heads for the digibox and the tv link. Please send in any info or pictures of how this could be setup. Still this may not solve the problem.

Thanking You For All Your Help

If the light is on then coax is not your problem.

I had similar problems with my link. Remote service on my second TV was intermittent with a standard coax cable, even though the LED was always on.
I bouight a 10m digital cable with gold moulded connectors from Homebase for about €11 and everything works fine now all the time.

    easy now,
    moz.

Like magic my T.V. link started working again last night, I did'nt do anything to make it stop working or anything to fix it, and I don't think its faulty because I had it for over a year and never any problems, maybee its just the humity in the air over the last few days

Lads ye have been great with your ideas and everything thing said has been a help but is still have had no luck in that the department of fixing the blasted thing the are so flaming touchy arent they. TIPPTOP was expierencing problems with his tv link but he has now reported back as to say his is working again, but what he had said first of all was the he had put it down to a software update , what i want to know is can this be the reason for the tv link going down the plug hole.

Once again please send in your suggestions they have of great help.

Hey everyone last night i decided to tackle this blasted Tv Link for once and for all , i refitted the heads with precision and hey presto it finally began to work at long last. I do believe now wat tipp topp had earlier said that a software update was the cause of this mishap.

I'd like thank everyone again for their comments on everything.

    Cheers

Direct sunlight or other electrical lights can cause problems.

Hey everyone back again last night the link stopped working again. I decided to get to the bottom of this. I decided to free up the digibox and make it more ventilated like life boat doc had previously stated and i did and finally, you see i have had my link connected into a Mitsubishi VCR that has to be 17 years old, so i connected it into a realativly new Phillips VCR and hay presto it worked again, so must have been not agreeing with the older VCR thats the conclusion i have come too.

    Cheers Willem

Why not connect it directly to second tv?
