Worst Wrestling moments.

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Nero the Extreme and have been watching pro wrestling since 1987 when Sky first hit the air in Ireland. Since then i've seen some class matches, but i've also seen some of the worst segments enough to break a television set. Here's a few to list.

    The Gobbledygooker:
Survivor Series 1990 - On many episodes of Superstars and Wrestling Challenge leading up to the Survivor series, they would focus a camera on this huge egg with promises of it hatching at SS. Well the day came, was it another wrestler? A manager? No! It was some gob****e in a chicken suit dancing around the ring with Gene Okerlund. The Sad thing is, inside the suit was Hector Guerrero. Who was actually a pretty decent worker.

    Doink The Clown:
Introduced as a heel in 1992, and it worked brilliantly until they turned him face before Survivor Series 1993. It all went horribly wrong from there, especially by the following SS when it was doink and three midget clowns.

    Mae Young:
Royal Rumble 2000: Those saggy tits that cost Channel 4 to lose their permission to show WWE events. I still have nightmares to this day!

    Undertaker Dies:
1994: After a pretty crap waste of 10 minutes, Undertaker gets shoved in a casket. Gives an interview from "within the casket" and then is risen out of the titan tron. In reality, he was going on vacation with his wife. And the lucky man who got to be risen out of the monitor? None other than Marty Janetty.

    Over the Edge 99:
Not so much crap, but a complete tragedy as the death of Owen Hart on live television. The entire wrestling world stood in shock while the card went ahead. After the third or forth match, JR announces the death. Owen Hart, a man who died long before his time. Still missed.

Thats my five. Anyone got any to list?
    Nero.

WELL IT IS THE PRO WRESTLING BOARD...

I watched wresting occasionally when i was young and i know all them moments, yeh they were pretty bad especially mae young :/

Own heart was a really cool guy i was in bits when i JR announced it.

ADD TO LIST: The time vince macmahon screwed bret heart: They had a match between bret and shawn micheals in which the loser would leave the wwf (but obviously shawn would come back in some contract loophole in the storyline). however they didnt tell bret that at the end shawn would turn him over and pin him. It happened and bret was thrown out of the wwf. This wasnt a storyline it was an actual back-stab by the wwf.

Survivor Series 97. It wasn't a loser leaves town. McMahon had pulled the plug on Hart's 20 year contract and wanted to make sure Bret didn't have a title before left and have another "Madusa incident" on his hands (Madusa had jumped ship to WCW two years earlier and showed up on WCW TV with the womens belt and junked it in the bin).

Bret's leaving quietly had two conditions, and that they were that he didn't drop the belt in Canada, and not to drop it to Shawn. (Slightly unfair request in the minds of some as the next PPV was to be held in Montreal and against Shawn).

We all know the outcome of this one folks. It'll be the great debate for probably another 5 years. Yeah, McMahon is a prick, but it's *HIS* company at the end of the day, and what he says is pretty much law. Who says the sports entertainment industry isn't political?

PS: sReq | Tarded, if you love depression so much, look for a Nick Cave or Tom Waits board somewhere. They'll love you.

Michaels won by putting Hart in the sharpshooter.Hart was "supposed to get to the ropes and eventually win the match". But he reached for the rope, and Earl Hebner(you still hear the "you screwed Bret!" chants toward him in Montreal) flipped his hand in the air, jumped out of the ring and dived into a limo.(thats the only funny part). Michaels was handed the belt, and Hart was shell-shocked.He spat on McMahons head(great shot, from the ring to the outside),and spelt out WCW with his finger in the air.
I still miss Bret,no doubt he is one of the greatest wrestlers who ever lived.

Wow, never noticed the WCW spelling. Must check it out, wonder if they showed that on the confidential DVD? Or do i have to forward all the way towards the end of Wrestling with Shadows?

Just saw bits of it now,Hebner does a big legger,Michaels trys to jump out of the ring(Vince is standing at the apron) but Bret is holding his foot,so he couldnt run. To be really honest,i always thought it was a story,so if Bret ever came back, they'd have something to fall on for ratings.Stupid, young,me!!!

It's not shown on Confidential unfortunately, although Hebner practically admitted fearing for his life as he was legging it to the car!

I'll see if i can dig it out on Wrestling With Shadows as i know they show a load of stuff after the match.

Owen's death was def the worst moment.

(BTW Brett Hart infered that Vince's screwjob and his leaving the WWE led to Owens death. He said that if he'd been there Owen wouldn't have done the stunt. I know Vince screwed him royaly but blaming him for Owens death is a bit much)

Piper's return was one of the worst wrestling moments. He was fat unfit and unable to wrestle. WWE should forget the 50 somethings and concentrate on the new generation of superstars.

Amazing how things come back full circle. Reminds me of when Nash first came onto WCW television pointing out that their main eventers required a Dialysis Machine! (who said Nash has no mic skills?).

Seven Years later we have Hogan V McMahon trailing behind Brock and Angle for the headline position of their biggest event of the year!

Even better, Billionaire Ted skits claiming that WCW's wrestlers were old and tired. Poor Vince is still looking for that misspent teenage youth.

They showed that clip during the WWE "History" promo clip that they were showing on RAW last year. Great clip!

Ah Yes, RD Reynolds. If you check the wrestlecrap forums as well, some guys have archived his stuff! That site used to be HUGE, then bandwidth was being sucked left right and centre so he does an update a week and takes requests.

The letters section is has some of the funniest stuff, and he says it himself, the readers post up stuff funnier than he could ever could.

    Well worth checking out.
