    hi there,
    using Figments account.
    I am starting out on a freelance job, been trying to get into this for ages.
    been asked to do an all day job for a festival back home. Have no idea what to charge. Photographs are to be printed in the local press. About 40 prints or there abouts, regular size.
    Any tips where to print them - good quality haven't reached digital advancement yet!

    Thanks for your help!
    Mary.

    The only pointer I can suggest is don't ask for anything near professional rates. The good pro's develop and print themselves if using film, making a large impact into the cost. (though, you did still see a lot of half-arsed efforts in papers before they were all using digital cameras).

    Don't under price yourself.
    Normally I would say look for €50 to €100 per shot, depending on repro size.
    However, given the quantity, I would say about €20 per shot.
    But, if they make a decent offer below that...

    Alternatively, you could charge them one day labour (about €400 to €500) and just pass on the film/dev/print fees as is.
