Hi All - have been having same problems with IOLBB and its flakey speeds; may have a possible fix.
I am using an opertaing system a bit like XP ;O) that the IOLBB driver that came in the box does not work with without a lot of hassle. I downloaded the orginal driver from ftp://ftp.europe.zyxel.com/p630-11/driver/p630-11_1.7.1.1_Windows98SE_WindowsME_Windows2000_WindowsXP__Standard.zip

I had been logging in with the IOLBB connection butr the install of the above driver gave me another dial up link called ZxZEL ADSL. I opened this put in my user name and password and lo ad behold went from 17kilobit bandwidth benchmark to a 283.1kilobit result.

Might be worth trying. . .

I'm on UTV - we get the same modem. I'm downloading this driver now, it's a more recent one than was included on the CD I got. Maybe it'll solve my UTV-related woes aswell ;)

    I think a previous poster was right - just a fluke !

I don't use IOL's supplied modem I use an Efficient Networks Speedstream ADSL Router and I still get crap speeds

    Tinky

    Opiate8

rather then doing speed test try and download a file preferably from iol webspace and see what speeds you are getting and see if it differs differently.

Seems like it may be fixed or on its way to being so; logged in with standaerd IOL driver and its fine 380k - downloaded 80MBs of music in 18 mins :O)
