Hacked q2 version 3.20 Zbot

I have been told by the good punters on q2.uk that there are new improved Zbots available on the net which according to a number o senior q2 uk players at Barrysworld is not detectable by bot protections.
hmmmmmmm.
But it is reckoned that the new version of bot protection out soon on BW can nap ppl using it would it not be a good idera to upgrade Quake.ie. Or is Cave on it. i've already been chattin to cloud & shank about it (this very day in fact). we'll get it up and running v soon. i think for the iq2cl, random chasecam testing should be madatory. i've also been on the war servers under an alias over the last week chase camming folk and recording demos. just for fun like. As I like demos.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is there any bot protection whatsoever on the ffa server? I think not.

I have to been chase camming ppl under diff names and am very worried i'll mention no names but i do feel that once the protection is in place things will sort themselves etc.

hmmmm,

How can you tell if someone is using a bot? I mean I always took the slagging and griping as friendly (or sulking). Are there any tendancies (signs) that a bot user shows (apart from sadness and the inability to lose gracefully)?

Actually , come to think of it, how does a bot work? I mean, what effect *exactly* does an aimbot have on a player? Does it aim and shoot automatically? Does it alter a players aim? What if the player actually wants to miss (perhaps to knock someone aside etc..)? How does it choose between multiple targets?

Just general curiosity.

Lolth, the aimbot aims and shoots for the person using it. As such its only real use in q2 is for the railgun, as thats the only instant hit/kill weapon. For all the other weapons, people can move too fast for it to be of much point.

I think it aims at the centre of any player models it sees in its FOV, hence the incredible accuracy. Cos of this a lot of bot users lower their FOV to around 50 so they can see only a narrower than usual band than usual in front of them. This eliminates the ninety (or even more) degree rail shot when they are clearly not facing you.

Despite this i have seen a couple of players on war recently doing just the aforementioned ninety degree shots. In most cases the player in question dissed or stopped using the rail when i tried to cam them. The worst case is a bot with railgun under water, if that happens you are completely fu[ked, it simply can't miss. Point blank rails on instant reactions coming around corners are also well suss, everyone knows the rail is next to useless up close unless your target is standing perfectly still.

loloth, u can spot someone using a bot several ways. The most obvious is that they never speak during the game. If theyre thick enough to be using a fov greater than 50 the lad will appear to fire out of his **** as he turns so fast, rockets also appear to fly out of his head.

hey, just cause u can't do ninety degree shots CT <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif&quot; WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> I've pulled off (ooerr matron) some rather excellent 180 degree shots of late, also railing people in mid-air (got u a few times this week) all down to my ever lowering mouse sensitivity, 3m mouse matt and ****ing tons of practice. there are a number of good railgunners on the servers who definately aren't using bots.
