There is a fair few threads about netsource but I'll tell you anyway, I've had no problems at all, been on it 2 weeks now, theres 3 computers in my house and 20 out of the 24 hours in a day someones using it without problems.

Its a quality service an the best value for money by far.

I've noticed they force you to buy a domain name for E10 a month... Is it they own domain name something like ****.adsl.netsource.ie, or they let you choose your own?

I heard you dont have to buy a domain name from them.

They forced me to take a domain name even though I didn't want to. But for the record, I will state that I'm extremely happy with the service - constant downloads of 56/55.9, with low pings to uk servers - (around 70 while playing CS).

    2 UbahOne:
The domain name is states as a "minimal service requirement"... meaning yes you have to pay for it :-|

    2 bambam:
Did they ask you what domain name you wanted or just gave thier own?

I have netsource also. There is 6 computers working off it and we all consider it a very good service.

As for the domain, this is a requirement

You pick your own domain, and it's not .netsoure.ie or anything like that, it's a proper .ie domain.

But when i searched through for the "Netsource?" thread. Stand said he didnt pay for a domain and he just ordered it without and sent thr forms back.

Everyone else who tried that got a phone call back saying they were waiting on the domain name forms before proceeding. It was probably just a fluke

You have to take the domain name .... if you are a company you can get a .ie ... otherwise you have to go for something else ... I went for a .com

BTW .. I've just connected to Netsource today ... this is 6 business days since I sent in the forms (by post) .... and it is great, speed wise and ping wise ... another happy customer :D

Anyone interested in knowing I have a Netgear DG814 (there is nowhere to set Authentication = CHAP, but the modem set it automatically) ... hanging off that I have a HE102 802.11a access point, and the laptop then has a WAB501 ... I can get 54Mb/s all over the house (using 152bit WEP and MAC address access control) ... no-one leeching off me ... I'm as happy as a pig in sh1t ... :D

I checked out Netsource before I went with IOL (How sorry I feel now. Dead slow)

Anyways. I told them that I already had a domain name and I didn't need another one. They said fine, I could get the Broadband without purchasing the domain name.

If you've already have a domain you don't have to get another one alright, but you do have to transfer your current one over to netsource. You pay them for it each year instead of whoever you're currently paying
