    you could try some of the new technologies.

    a program coded in c#/vb.net for a smart device (pda, wince)
    visual studio .net 2003 now comes with these templates and a PDA emulator so u don't have to buy the pda hardware. just have to make sure your college has VS.NET 2003. as for the program to write I'm not sure, there's alot of things that can be aimed at the PDA market. one idea (which is probably lame) you could have a golf score card, record scores over different competitions, show best scores over a time, but that is quite small so I don't think you'd get the year out of it)

    but try something original, the lecturers like something new.
