Just wondering who out there has been to see this. i wached it in the IFC on Tuesday, i liked it. a very origal idea... i've never come out of a movie and still wonder what it's about.
the entire film is done in one shot! the coriography is amazying. the imagery is fantastic although, there seemed something missing... i'm not sure why but it was only after a day had passed before i decided i liked the film. i spent the first day working out what was happening and more mysteriously why!

hitchcock's rope is done as if it was one take, the cuts done cleverly by someone walking in front of the camera or tricks like that. the controversial rape film irreversible is done as a series of long takes (circa twenty minutes each).

stylistically, the major scene in this, the ball, owes everything to visconti's ball sequence int he leopard.

is it possible to understand this film without reading/heaing interviews with the diretcor? unlikely.

the film seemed to be saying a lot more then what was shown, it would be interseting to have a directors comentry on it.
