ok, i will take it that tinet was up and running yesterday. when i logged on i kept getting a big blue screen with errors on it
after a while of reinstalling modems etc i finally figured out that id been cut off for not payin me bills tut tut tut <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/frown.gif&quot; WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":(">
2 things i want to know. if i pay up me 60 quid to tinet will they reconnect me straight away no fuss like, and secondly, should i just go out an get an account somewhere else like DNA. being only 95 quid like it would make my life easier an stuff

which reminds me, does any one have a spare tinet account that i could borrow for a week til i get paid so i can pay for either of above suggestions?

DNA ain't no use to quake.ie atm due to them not being on INEX yet. get an indigo trial account or summit. or just accept that he who whitewashes last laughs the longest.

i reckon i know what it is now.
after about half an hour shoutin down the phone at the poor tinet techie, and about an hour of him trying in vain to get me to stop crying, he thinks its some corrupt files in me system. when i mentioned the big blue screen of death (i actually used that name) he gasped and swore. i hope he wasnt being monitored coz he was dead nice <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif&quot; WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
looks like i have to format and re-load winddies. so i will be off line til i get me new puter and grab all me files onto it.
hopefully be done by end of the weekend.

however. i plan to be in the cybercafe in ranelagh on friday night, so if anyone wants to meet up for a beer at about 9ish somewhere near, post it here before7 tomorrow night coz i wont be able to read it once i laeve work tomorrow.castor, will you be there and do you know any pubs aropund there?
im bringin Yer'Ma as well, so prepare to be scared

and blue screenies dont really mena u have to go and reinstall eveything jsut check for viruses

check ure pc out totally til u think that u will have to reinstall....

and try taking a note of all your network settings, then remove everything in networks, every goddamn client, adapter and protocol. do the same with dialup networking, use add/remove programs and remove it there.

then reinstall it, and if you've win95, download and install dun1.3 and also check the PC for viruses, like adra said.

errm, a big blue screen with errors on it has nothing to do with you're ISP account. U mean the PC crashes with the big blue screen of death don't you? or what do you mean? do you know what u mean?

There should be a DNA report up on the edge, today or tomorrow, with all the trace route info, DNA dinna look good, they don't even provide "good" pings to their own servers.

erm, what i mean is when i get the bi blue screen of death when i log on. i enter me password, press connect, it connects, it verifies name and password and then screen goes black for a sec and big blu screen with errors on it comes up and then it tells me to press ctrl alt del.
it hassta be me isp for gawd sake. i suppose i could just phone them up and ask them, which i why i want the loan of a tinet account, so i can verify these sorts of things (plus i need me q2 fix, and a game of tribes wouldnee go amiss either)

an another reason to think its the isp is the fact that nothin will work that needs the net. icq, mIRC, tribes, internet explorer. it will connect sorta but no data transmission comes through (was i tryin to say that all along?)

wwm, if its your ISP account it just won't log you in, it'll probably say invalid username or password. thats all. it sounds like your network dialup settings are messed/corrupted. mail the quake guy in dna (steve@d-n-a.net) and ask for a trial account. its not the ISP imho
