With the job loss and such in ireland and the fact we are such an expensive little nation we in Ireland seem to be turning into a country with a lot of down trodden people with low moral and rightly so in a lot of cases but I would like to see people list five things that they truly like about ireland without reposting anything else a previous poster has.

Please nobody take offence at the wording of above, I tried to word it as PC as possible.

Lets see how long it takes before the thread runs off topic.
This thread is not to be over taken by people moaning about what someone else said they liked. A personal opinion is a personal opinion and has the right to be respected.

I posted this in AH cause I though it might be suited here but if the mods thing it should be move, so be it.

    hmm five things....
    1) - there's still loads n loads of open land ie. not overtaken by towns and cities.

    2) - the place is reasonably unpolluted.

    3) - we're neutral (er...??)

    4) - when there's a good year (ie. no deficit thingy) its ok

    5) - nope...can only think of 4 at the moment....

To be honest there are plenty of jobs out there, only no-one wants to do a crappy job... or a job thats not as good as one they had years ago..... I miss people would stop moaning abot their being no jobs.

Now here are the wotes from the lumporian Government.

    1. The People
    2. The Atmosphere
    3. The fact that you can be a twat when hammered and it wont come back to haunt you over and over.
    4. The Green Areas.
    5. Nice towns smaller communities and all that.
    6. Being really friends with some one and not just a person you see regularly
    7. Being able to talk openly with people.

Might seem strange to people but move to England for a while and you will see the opposite to all of these things. English people are soooo reserved.

I couldn't really think of any

    1. Our ability to produce such great people both sporting, cultural and otherwise who can show the world that size isn't everything

    2. Our participation in the U.N. our peace keeping work to date

    3. Our dedication to helping those less fortunate i.e. Live Aid organised by an Irishman and that even at a time when our economy was in tatters we still contributed more per head of population than any other country in the world.

    4. Our dedication to learning and education

    5. Our unique ability to not take ourselves too seriously

1/ So easy going its a fault at times :D

2/ The fact that everyone from everwhere else says "im a 10th irish you know" show how well liked we are.

3/ The fact that we are able to enjoy oursleves and not feel guilty about it.

    4/ Guinness

5/ The fact that for such a small country we have produces some of the finest minds in both arts and technolegy

I have more but not with out repeating other people.

    1. Jokes that only Irish people get.

    2. I Know most countrys have this, but I think Irish people have a very good sense of identity, despite not being overly patriotic.

    3. A lot of places have very tightly knit communities.

    4. The Irish schooling system is good in comparison to most other nations, and is filled with some amazzing people.

    5. THe summer weather ;)
