Am looking for info on motherboards.

which manufacturer is the best? what's the biggest badest mothboard going at the moment?

looking for one that has RAID, DDR, and a socket A for AMD athlon 3000B.

or even some links to some good review sites. ( know about toms hardware looking for alternatives).

    Thanks

    Try epox nforce2

8rda3+ 400mhz support **** can't rember if this has raid

You can always do as I did bought a PCI raid card for €35

have been told by a friend to stay clear of the nforce chipset,

don't know why do but will find out.

also need to have RAID onboard as have lots of PCI junk

surely you mean steer clear of the nforce1 chipset...???
as you should th kt266, kt266a and via400 cause their too old as well.
The nforce2 chip set, particularily the SPP with MCP-T versions are the best u can get for the XP.

Abit NF7-S v2.0 on special offer from komplett
am thinking of buying it myself

Asus A7N8X is another good one.
