F1 Technical books?

    Anyone know of any good technical books about Formula 1 cars giving info on engines, electronics, chasis and general design principles? I've been looking out for such a book for a while now but it seems the only F1 books that are ever written are stats books or biographies on how great Michael Schumacher is. :(

    I know F1 teams value their privacy and the secrecy of their cars very highly but if I could even get a book detailing technical info on a car from a couple of years ago that would do fine.

    I guess what I'm basically looking for is the closest thing possible to a typical car 'owners manual' - but for an F1 car.

    Closest thing was F1Mech.co.uk but the guy ran out of time an closed it. It was a fantastic site for tech spec[ulation] and always a great read...

    In Autosport the week after a grand prix, they do a pretty good technical focus of the developments that teams are running for that race weekend.

    It's written by Alan Jenkins who's designed for Stewart in the past and the diagrams are always spot on and very informative. It's also easy to understand, even if you don't know much by way of mechanical engineering.

    Good tech overview here on many aspects of F1 cars. You will find it hard to very specific info on any specific cars. If you need it for research or other technical purposes send me a PM. I have a contact who works for HP on the F1 side and I could see if I could get some historical technical journals. If it's just for curiosity then the site above should be enough.
