Mounting an ISO so it's a CD

I'm trying to install an RPM and it's looking for disk2 of RH9.

I don't have the disk here, so I downloaded the ISO and mounted the ISO with...

    mount -t iso9660 -o loop shrike-i386-disc2.iso /mnt/isoimage

However the RPM says it can't see the CD. I am guessing it is looking for the CDRom? How do I get it to look in the other place? Or to fake the other place as CD?

probably missing something, but how come you didn't d/l the individual rpm, it's got to be on some ftp somewhere

Why is it asking for the 2nd CD? Are you using once of Redhat's GUI tools?

If so, try and do it from a shell. Go into the /mnt/isoimage/RedHat/RPMS directory and run rpm directly from that directory e.g. rpm -vi package_name.rpm

Yea I did that afterwards. :) Thanks. Just being lazy.

Would still be intresting to know if it is possible.

I'm totally guessing here, but could you not just

    mount -t iso9660 -o loop shrike-i386-disc2.iso /mnt/cdrom

    ?????

Nope that doesn't work. The GUI doesn't reconise that a CD has been put in.

Guessed that, but it was worth a go.....

the GUI may be checking in the /etc/mtab if /dev/cdrom has been mounted. You could have a look at editing this file, but I don't think it's a good idea/practice.
