I have a Sky subscription and a Pace decoder. Recently I've a lot of picture breakup on many channels. Sometimes, I cannot receive any channel !!!. When I go into the setup on the box and choose Signal Test, the signal is always less that 50%. On those occasions when I've no channels, there is 0% signal.

What's the normal signal strentgh ?

Either your dish is not sitting right.. Or there is a problem with your cable! Also make sure a bird is not on the dish at the time... It can cause the same problem.

    Thank you Saruman.

Some channels are often fine (Irish Channels) while at the same time others are messed up. Motors TV is usually one of the messed channels.

Sometimes if you do a re-boot that solves alot of bugs!!!.

Ok, it's gone completely now. No reception whatsoever. When the box is switched on, I get a "No Satellite Signal being received".

I receive zero signal all the time in the services menu under Signal Test. I thought a neighbours tree might be partially blocking the disk but after trimming the branches back, it's still the same.

I've tried resetting the box a number of times and still nothing.

I spoke with Sky and just like DeclanK, they want to charge £65 sterling for a call out charge. No thanks.

This has been happening gradually over the last few weeks and progressively getting worse. I can however remember one evening (more than 1 month ago) when there was an unmerciful shower of rain, the reception went completely. One hour later the rain had gone and the reception was back up again so would this imply that my problem is external ? possibly LNB ?. I've checked the cable at the LNB and it seems in place.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

I'll try the Pace decoder at a friends place and see if that's ok.

    Hi demac,

It sounds the exact same problem as I was getting, please let me know how you get on when you try a friends decoder. It started a few weeks ago for me E4 started jumping. Most of the other posts I have read about this problem seem only apply to the Grundig decoder, so interesting that you are having the same problem.

Just wanted to check you are not located in Baldoyle, Dublin 13 where I am - just to rule out there is nothing in the area causing trouble.

Also is your signal strength full??

    I'm in Dublin 15.

I have zero signal strength showing under the Signal Strength option.

Will let you know about the friends decoder.

Well the Digibox is fine at a friends house and I checked my cable and that's ok too. I guess it can only be the LNB now.

Does anyone know of a place in Dublin where I can get a Grundig LNB ?

If you're outside the minimum contract term of one year, try threatening to cancel your subscription - they usually change their minds and send someone out for free.

    Too late.
I got someone to come out and move the dish. It turns out that a neighbours tree had been growing rahter fast over the last couple of weeks and it was that what was causing the problem.

I dicsovered this after getting a new LNB. DOH !!
