Minardi were on intermediate Bridgestones and probably a very light fuel load. The rain came at the right time for them and it's great to see them on the top.
Pity today is Friday though!! :(

It pi$$ed rain and was drying out for the whole session. The times are pretty much reverse championship order.

It just seems very strange to see though.
I hope it rains during the race on sunday, it always makes it that bit more exiting.

The first car our on "slicks" was Firman who was 4th last out. After that, I believe Pizzonia and the two Minardis also went out on dry weather tyres.

The first few out were on the "extreme" wets, and then after Fisichella (who was 9th or 10th out) went out on intermediates, everyone else went out on them up until Firman's run. Firman made a hames of the middle sector and would possibly have been on pole otherwise.

For the race the Jordans are placed on the 2nd last row!

Which must be thier worst qualifying in many a moon, those Merc engines can't happen quick enough (if they happen at all), how many sponsers must they be pissing off at the moment....?

    Mike.

The deal has not been signed and could go to a nomber of other teams. Furthermore there was loads of hype about the Ford Lump going into the Jordan Chassis, etc. and look at it now - is there anything to suggest that by putting a merc lump will be any better for the team?

Just remember if they do get the deal they'll be gettin' a merc motor thats about a year out of date compared to McLaren. (mind you it couldn't be any worse than the ford)

It all depends on what Ford want to do. After the disaster this season though i doubt they will want to continue.

A merc engine even three years old would be bteer than the current crap in that jordan.
