"Visual Impact" - anyone used it?

First and foremost, Monty if you want to throw this off to another board feel free - I looked about a bit and couldn't figure out where it'd fit in.

Basically, I'm in the running for a job and one of the requirements is a 'knowledge of Visual Impact'.

I've never heard of 'Visual Impact' and can't seem to find out much about it - anyone here used it/know it/have any info for me on it?

(See? This could have fitted in Work, or in Pix 'n' Mix, or who knows, possibly in Game Editing, or maybe in Technology and/or any of its sub-boards, or anywhere else really. Basically I'm desperate and wanted to try and make sure there was a good chance lots of people would see it, thereby heightening my chances of a positive response.)

Nah, then they'd have asked for knowledge of the whereabouts of weapons of mass distraction...

...now, anyone got anything USEFUL to offer?

Never heard of it but then I'm not in that sphere of work.

It sounds quite ambiguous so to take a wild guess I can only muster up - they are looking for creative minds that have an eye for what is current in the trends of society now. An eye for what fashion will be, an eye for seeing into the future. If you are able to create a spectacular spectacle that has ne'er been seen before.

I dunno really, just throwing out suggestions etc. What is the job exactly?

After a guilty bit of googleing maybe one of these two is what you're after.

http://www.visualimpactimaging.com/ - Business software for predesigning interiors and exteriors.

    http://www.visuals.co.uk/ - Broadcasting equipment

Probably be helpful if more was known about the target job in question tbh. Like what field it is. If it's a marketing job then putting:

    +"visual impact" +marketing

into to google might glean some useful results and so on and so forth and what have you...

I'm reading "No Logo" at the moment, in Victorian times the big thing in your ad.s was to have lots of white space (typesetting of the news being quite dense). These days it's a matter of "shock and awe"ing your customers to recognise your brand.
