Servers - and other stuff

Okay - servers have finally been updated. Enjoy them!!

Also this is aimed at some ppl inhabiting the land of Irish Quake.

Certain members of the Quake Community have started lambasting me over the last few days and i'm making my feelings known. Im sick to my stomach with this. I am balancing work and more importantly family to get these servers together and then I hear (and have proof of) this torrent of abuse. And its happened more than once.

First: I CANNOT GIVE OUT THE RCON PASSWORD - can I make it any clearer?? I did at the start but Indigo then said no.

Second: If you want control of these servers you should have gotten off your **** and did it yourself. Over the last 6 months this has cost me time (lots) and money.

Third: I specifically asked Von what War Mod he wanted. Get your facts together. I dont care anymore where you play. If I had the source for the mod I'd ADD a bloody kick routine - but I dont - WTF more can I do??

Fourth: Seeing as I put all the work into these servers, it's my choice who I feel I can trust and is responsible enough to have the Admin codes. Regardless of their ping and whether you like him or not.

If anybody here has a problem with this at least have the courage and decency to say it to me - instead of this stupid behaviour.

Fair play to ya man for all the work you have done it is appriciated. I'm sure I echo the majority of the Irish Quake Community in saying this. Thanks also to Indigo for providing the servers. Lads remember Slosh and people like him are doing this off their own backs and apart from time some of them are also investing their own money.

While it may be true that some people will moan about not having Admin status/ The RCON password, I firmly believe that the vast majority of people are quite grateful for what you've done with the indigo servers.

F**k the begrudgers Brian, I DARE one of them to moan about it while on a server at the same time as me.

This is the way it goes Brian.
Just keep thinking about the tons of people who hop onto CA for a quick game and never bother with the board or IRC.

There are two ways the future can go, we can go the public route as we have to date or we can go a sort of Wireplay/Barrysworld route
where we get an ISP to host a machine for us and we charge for the password etc.
100 pounds from 50 people will see you get a computer and a host for a year. Easy. So then we form little groups with exclusive door policies. No one will give out the password cos if they did, they lose their right of access with no refund.

The first way is more inclusive and nicer. The second is easier to control and we could do what we liked with the servers.

Slosh re:RCON. Dont fuccking give it to any of them. I know there is a problem with the war server, but get someone (preferably the person complaining) to get you a patch for the mod or another/better mod. Dont let silly comments get to you. All I have heard about the Indigo servers is how great it is to have them. CTF seems to be storming back into the favourite mods etc.

The Indigo servers are the best server setup I think we have ever had here in Ireland for Quake and it's ppl like you who get up off ure ass and do somethin about it that those of us with some inkling of brains appreciate.
Ignore the muppetry, do what I do, kick at first sight of muppetry, wallow in the abuse, give it back worse, then kick them again. They mightnt learn their lesson, being muppets n sh!t but its fun anyway.
Dont feel ure not appreciated at all man, those of us with better things to do than annoy you love those servers.

P.S. Not to ignore suds of course, who put us right when the quake.ie servers went @rse, i.e. day 1, fair fux to you too gav, always the same, all the work is done by so few. ah well. sh!t happens.

Which one of you fuk wads said anything against slosh? the fella that has do nothing but good for irish quake scene in general. who will allways lend a hand when needed or give advice. Well you ever moans your a pack of ungratefull bastids. If ya want to moan feic off to some other servers and moan there the majority of all the ppl prefer indigo's setup to anything. SO feic off yiz begrudging

Heres a thought why dont the main muppets go off and rob some of daddys money and make ur own server and fuking stay there, instead of annoying us honest folk.

Most of us have absolutely no right to complain here. We have done nothing but play on the servers, while a small handful have been workin their @sses off the further the future of irish quake, and to make sure we have servers to play on in the first place. In my opinion they have done a fine job of it, and hopefully they get some much needed help, and yes this is me volunteering my services (If I have the time next semester).
