EU laws regarding pensions for people moving within the union and maybe settling down in a different country then what they used to work for.

quite a specialist area. depends on whether you are interested in the state provisions or private schemes.

For state scheme entitlements try the Department of Social and Family Affairs. you will probably go through 20 or so calls befory you get someone who actually knows what they are talking about. but once you get the right person they tend to be very helpful.

For private/company scheme options if you are moving you probably need specialist guidance, which will take into account actuarial and tax considerations and be based on your age and your current fund. the likes of Becketts http://www.becketts.ie or Mercers http://www.mercerhr.ie would be the places to go - but they charge. If its a company relocation many company's will pay for this advice.

In the past I have usually found that a call to the Irish Pensions Board can be very worthwhile: (01) 613 1900 http://www.pensionsboard.ie/
