Reading in a deliminated file in C

    Hi I have a file an example of teh format is below
    1031 00005651 admin 5 Printer1 1 7123- STD xx                     23.05.2003 15:03:33 26.05.2003 08:50:30 1 1
    1032 00005651  
    

    now all I want to do is read in the first two columns(in seperate files)
    ie the output should be
    file 1/
    1031
    1032
    file 2/
    00005651
    00005651

    any ideas??

    actually I got what I need
    silly me was using fscan

    I used fgets and then sscan and it is all sorted
