I think one of the most quoted lines would have to be

    Not from a film but:

    "How you doin"

Its a classic but over used by now.

"blah blah... red pill... waffle... blue pill... giberish...Something about depth of rabbit holes." Seems to crop up all over the place.

I would say the three most over quoted authors were

    King
    Wilde
    Twain (clemmens)

    As for most quoted filmstars

    Arnie Swartznegger
    Mae West
    Clint Eastwood

The problem is that people are overusing the worst quotes from the movies mentioned.

E.g., Terminator - I'll be back. Yes it's overused but the film itself was a plethora of awesome quotes. I've almost gone entire conversations with quotes, which is scary ("You really know your guns, pal", "I need yu clothes, yu boots and yu motucycle"). ****ing awesome, or else I am just a weirdo who remembers odd quotes.

Matrix? Overused stuff on blue pill red pill, etc., but quotes like "You have a problem with authority, Mr. Anderson", "...and you help your landlady carry out her garbage" and "Dodge this" are real classics. Of course, soon after I saw the Matrix I saw an odd movie on RTE which was asian in origin and had a repeated quote from the lead character who said every few minutes "Wash Me". So of course everything above became about washing, and the quotes became even better - "How about I give you a wash and you give me my phone call" or the classic "Quick, everybody, Morpheus is washing Neo". You may have to have been there.

The overused ones suck, for sure (aboot), but the movie they come from are always riddled with classics. All it takes is for you to start saying **** like "I'm going to get you, you little menace" (Better Off Dead) in everyday speech to make it into classic status.

These are'nt from movies but from Father Ted. A class show and the quotes will always be with us:

"Ride me sideways was another one"

    "F this, F that, F your F-in wife"

"Its got the head of a baby and the body.............of a baby"

"Those women were in the nip!"

    etc etc etc

We all kno we've quoted Dougal at some stage
