Good Monospaced Unicode font

I use PuTTY to access various Linux and UNIX machines and some of them have UTF-8 locales. Most of the time I can't see the difference, but every now and again I come across a character not being displayed correctly. It's kinda irritating and I'm fairly sure it has to do with the font missing some characters.

The problem is, the more complete Unicode fonts tend to be proportional ones and PuTTY will only allow monospaced fonts. (Even if it did allow other fonts, I'd still want something close to "Courier New")

Does anyone know of a free monospaced font that doesn't choke on the this text file?
