Am in a very bizzare situation, am hoping maybe someone can throw some light on it.

    Heres the backround...

1)In my last apartment i had i-stream with eircom...

    2) I moved a couple of months ago, called eircom , asked for new line in new apartment (didn't have a line installed), and to close off the old one.
No problems, closed off the old one, and balance remaining is transferred to new account (i was in ceredit due to i-stream being paid in advance), new account number, new phone number.

So grand i think, ring eircom to see if my new line will qualify for adsl, they say as its a new line it'll take a couple of weeks.

So i reckon..ok ...everyone posting here seems to be experiencing big delays even when qualified..so i'll be cute about it..i order utvip..

    Thats grand and enables..still is.

A week or so later , no word from eircom, so i call up biddy, sure i can have adsl no problems, would i like to order..NO i say, your to expensive.

So i send off an order to Netsource, at this time (about two weeks ago, ppl were talking about 20 working day lead times here...so i think..all is well , sure utvip will be grand untill the adsl is installed and i'll just cancel it (no ROI clicksilver on the horizon at this time).

A couple of weeks pas, then yesterday I hapen to be at home in the afternoon ( had the adternoon off as i'd an appontment with the dentist).

So i'm sitting in the apartment rubbing my throbbing and mostly numb jaw post dental drilling and injections and feeling a bit grumpy...then the doorbell rings..theres some lad there, says hes here to install "the adsl" , i say "wha" or something approaching it with a mouth that feels like i'm chewing a tennis ball, "i'm here to install the adsl" , well a fel apologies later for sounding like a mong, it seems that hes here on eircoms behalf, or so he says. Well , i don't want eircom adsl, and i surely dont need an engineer to plug a splitter into a socket thanks.

So off he goes, and maybe it was the brain numbing dentist chemicals taking effect in my brain, i decide, ok lets see, so i plug my old i-stream alcatel adapter into the pc, reinstall raspppeo and what ya know its all green for go. Bung in my old i-stream user:pass, and i'm connect @ 512k again.

I call eircom in a panic, and say..i never ordered from you!!
They say , no you didnt, i say, are you sure, yes they say, your account hasnt got an adsl package on it, i ask biddy to log the fact on their call system that i want it recoreded that i havent (re) ordered adsl from them.

I called netsource today, they say they cant enable me for adsl as eircom told them i've ordered from "another provider" ....what provider i honestly dont know!!

Anyhow, hoping these pings below might provide maybe some hint of just whom i'm connect through, they are i have to say far far better than when i was ever on i-stream, and whomeever the provider is..please own up!!

I'm pretty scared i'm going to get a huge bill from someone..just dunno who....

    Anyhow..to the pings and tracerts..

the fact that your trace is referring to eircom.net, im guesing it has to be eircom

Yeah, but everyone's an eircom reseller, which is why i was kinda hoping the via ppl would say it's via im connecting through. (just authenticating with an old user:pass) , tbh kinda amazed the authentication doesnt seem to be number related at all.

I wish i could afford the luxury of sticking up two fingers to eircom, but even though they say i most definately certainly etc that i do NOT have adsl with em, no doubt they'll smack me with a huge phone bill unless its sorted, hmm reckon another 1901 session is in order tomorrow.....usual scenario...billing.."am i signed up for adsl" ..."no sir" , "are there any adsl orders pending on my account?" , "you better speak to the broadband peopel" ...bb person "no sir you have no adsl ordered from us" ..."are you sure?" .."you better speak to billing"" ..." can you record on you logs that i've called up about this and that you have confirmed that i havent ordered bb from eircom?" ..."we dont have that facility sir" ..."so you dont log ANY CALLS?" ......"i'll see what i can do sir".......agggghhhhhhhh....jebus this company would be crucifed in an open market :((((((((((

the way i see it is:
    1) you will get away with it for a while till/if they suss it then they will smack you with a HUGE bill. i am thinking if it went to court you would loose as you know you are reciving a product and if you dont pay for it its against the law but there might be some loop hole as they said you dont have it the court might take your side you could look into the legal side but at the end of the day its up to you do you fancy getting slaped with a huge bill?

call comreg and tell them that some provider is using your line without your permission?

Eircom stole you off Netsource, the contract you signed is with Netsource and not Eircom. Netosurce have good grounds if what you say is tru and you provide them with the same information in writing.

Thieving business off a competitor like this example is known as being 'slammed' in the Telecommunications world.

Muck its XACTLY as i posted, not for one nanosecond did i say to eircom that i wanted to order from them, in fact when i rang to see was my line adsl compatible , the lady asked me if i wanted to subsribe to them if the line passed, i said "NO, you charge to much", my exact words.... yet they still signed me up, this behaviour really really annoys me.

I have called them subsequently , and explained that i nesource cannot activate me as they are told that i'm "subscibed to another provider".

I said who the hell am i subscribed to..they said us.....several transfers later ...caoimhe...to lisa..to orla...i'm told this order is being cancelled.

Besides anything, this strikes me as highly illegal, they have all my personal details and have DELIBERATLY tried to FORCE on me a service i NEVER EVER ordered, and in fact DISTINCTLY said i didnt want.
