What's the most fastest, most impressive and technically challenging piece you can play on an instrument?

I'd have to say it's either Ballerina Or For The Love Of God by Steve Vai or Flight Of The Bumblebee by Beethoven.

The intro to Thunderstruck. I'm only starting to learn guitars, but I'm quite proud of that little bit...

I've always been massively impressed by Spinal Taps "Big Bottom". There's that wonderfuly squelchy sounding bass and the fact that I've never heard so many puns crammed into such a short space.

Steve Vai - Bad Horsie (Live). Unbelievable!

John Petrucci (Dream Theater) - Fatal Tragedy. The solo is as said above, unbelievable!

    ^^^ Boys got skill!

Nesthead: interesting that you would bring that up. Say more about yourself than anything else. I just wanted to see what sort of level of guitarist visited boards.ie

Satch is the man. I downloaded a video of him play Surfing earlier. Unbelieveable. Try necromanian epilogue by John Petrucci. Unbelieveable!

Petrucci is supposed to be going on this years G3 with vai and Satch. Should be good if it comes to Ireland.

ferdi: No One Knows is a bloody good song to play all right. Hard to get the same tone as the band imho

The solo from One, by Metallica.
It's not too difficult, but it usually impresses most people who've never tried learning it.

Or the American national anthem, or The Twilight Zone, or The Imperial March, or reqieum for a marionette (Hitchcock's theme). All good inbetween song licks.

Someones been watching the Change of Seasons video a few times :D

    My choice is most definately:
Dream Theatre - Change of Seasons

24minutes of genius, so many solo's throughout, brilliance, sheer brilliance.
