How to keep Status Bar in XP IE Explorer?

    Hi,

Not life or death by any stretch but every time I open a new IE browser window or Windows Explorer window in XP, the status bar disappears - have to click View/Status Bar every time.

Is there a way of maintaining the setting?

    Many Thanks

try opening up one explorer window,
    Just One!
    view - status bar.
then close the window and reboot.
    worked for me
I think its an issue because of the way windows explorer and IE are linked in xp that you can't have different settings in each.

I think in some instances IE is governed by your default folder settings, for example if you CTRL+N in IE.

To maintain the status bar make sure in Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E)->Tools->Folder Options->View->Apply to all Folders, the default folder view is one with a status bar.

Hope this is of some use,

    lph

What you suggested worked and it was mostly when I used CTRL+N in IE

    Thanks!
