    PHANTOM NEWS

Since Phantom was forced to cease its FM broadcasts we've been
busy working to try to secure the stations future. Formal contact has been
made with the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) and some encouraging
noises seem to have come out but we will have to keep on working on it.

We have also been working to get ourselves and the lack of licences issue as much
publicity as possible. There have been good articles in the Irish Independent,
Irish Examiner, Sunday Business Post, Phoenix, Hot Press and the Irish Times
in the past couple of weeks. Keep scanning the papers for Phantom mentions!
All publicity is welcome, so if you have contacts in the media who may be able
to assist us, pass on the contacts.

In the meantime, hold off on the letters etc to the BCI and others until we find out what their official position is and whether these encouraging noises go anywhere or are just wind! In the meantime, be sure to tune into Phantoms live online broadcasts at phantomfm.com and if you are listening be sure to email the presenters at studio@phantomfm.com or text them at 087 619 5171 to let them know you're out there. It can be a lonely gig sometimes..And of course, see you at Phantasm on Thursday night in Whelans and on the 25th at the Sugar Club for the second round of the Phantom music
quiz. More details on all of those below.

Many people have been asking about getting a system where you can see which songs that are currently playing. We think this is a great idea but right now it’s too costly to get something like that running. We are working on it though. Stay tuned and if you can think of anything that would make Phantom a better station then jot your ideas down and send them to programming@phantomfm.com.
