Hirlam has nasty low approaching Kerry\Clare coast by 5am
Where does this come from all of a sudden ?
I would think a very fast steering Jet would be a significant factor .
Mentioned very strong winds on the weather forecast after the news possibly exceeding 110km/h in Kerry bewteen 05.00 - 06.00
This the Low you referred to Weathercheck ? ( shows up on the 925hPa chart )
That first swathe of strong winds into Clare are not really appearing in the Shannon TAF. The edge of strongest winds will skirt the area so the forecast could be spot on or may need upgrading if the wind area is slightly further north.

Gosh there have been so many warnings this week! Very interesting! Is it usual for this time of year? (Trying to learn the art of weather ;p )
Looks like this is coming thick & fast....Could be an interesting morning!
Yes looking very gusty, will be interesting to see if this Hi Res model is accurate. Strong Gusty wind running across Kerry and Cork.
No not unusual I would think, just an active phase of weather atm.
EDIT: misread your post, changed my reply, not unusual for this time of the year, can get a bit of every thing this month and the next !
