Grand day in north meath today, dry with sunny spells every now and again, big change from yesterday and what i expected today
Fairly heavy rain here in Kildare now for a while
Another 8.8mm since midnight, bright breezy morning now with a few welcome bits of blue sky here near Tralee.
Dry for half an hour in sligo at 930 but rainin since.
Frontal band just hovering until it fizzles out
Near blue skies here in West Clare now, no rain recorded since 4am this morning.
Very unexpected, great day, if not a little windy.
Bitterly cold in the wind, which is thankfully a little less strident... occasional sudden deluges.. The mountains to the north and east have a tiny scattering of snow atop. Just a soupcon!

horrible evening here now after a grand day, sun was out, a bit of cloud appeared about an hour ago and its been lashing rain since
How did that heavy snow forecast work out?
"hint of snow" were the words I read in the Op, but maybe I'm wrong.
Just to compare how much further west today's low tracked compared to how it was looking when this thread was started, below is the actual position at 8 am this morning and the same chart posted in the op. This 200-km westward shift brought with it the warmer airmass from the east.
