The Morricone concert that gets played on Sky Arts from time to time was performed live outdoors in Saint Mark's Square in Venice and was by all accounts an amazing live experience.
Does anyone know if this Dublin concert will be held in the courtyard in the Royal Hospital - which would be acoustically similar to St Mark's I'd imagine - or will it be out where Leonard Cohen played I wonder?
Hope your right but that concert would have been recorded using specialised equipment so it sounded great on tv, like glastonbury for instance.
There is no way you would hear the string section as you should when you are outdoors. It would be almost impossible to acoustically treat the kilmainham arena without it being covered on all sides.(ie indoors).
Saying that, it will be an incredible experience anyhow
I am looking for seats at this concert, the best I can get .... this is a must see as far as I am concerned ... I love his music! I would really appreciate your advice on how I can get tickets or a good seats as I guess the lines will be busy when they open on Ticketmaster on 3rd April!
Got two tickets this morning, that's the wedding anniversary sorted!
From the venue layout on the Ticketmaster site it looks like the concert will be held in the courtyard of the Royal Hospital. Here's hoping for fine weather come July
Got two myself, waiting now is the issue!
Got two myself.
Of the cheapest.
Got tickets this morning. Can't wait, it'll be epic, even if it's raining!
Hi guys! So excited to be seeing Ennio play, can't believe he's making the trip to little old Dublin! Just wondering if anyone has been to the venue before? I've got tickets in block A1 BB, 25 - 26 and I'm wondering what the view will be like? The seating plan is a bit difficult to interpret so I'm not exactly sure where I am sitting.. I gather maybe its the back of block A1 which doesn't seem too far back Do the rows go like AA - AZ and then start again at BA?
Not sure the layout of the place for a concert - I've got seats in A3, Row JJ so like you it would be great if someone could enlighten us!
Looking at the seating plan - there are 97 rows x 112 seats ~ 10,000 people. There's no way that many could fit in the courtyard as it's 60m x 60m.
It will be outside the hospital building, in the field to the west just like the (annual) Leonard Cohen concerts.
112 - - 1
Got Row A.just right of the stage, couldn't believe my luck....
I could care less about the view, the sound should be excellent from the cheap seats at the back
85 euro aint cheap!! but having said that, any seat would be great me thinks
