I'd argue that as a man with so much experience, who was writing a blog post about how messy and untidy the current photography world is, that he perhaps intentionally made sure to use an image that conveyed the feeling of his post, no?
undesirable look lines that are different widths and heights which make it look some what messy and untidy to look
Isn't this exactly how he's portraying the have-a-go-photography scene that exists today?
I would agree with you if his post was about how level and perfect the world is for photographers today, but clearly that's not the case.
