Im not sure if this is correct place to ask but did anyone hear the Coronas song that was played on Ray D'arcy show today? Just curious. Thanks
Ya it was the lakes of Ponchartrain, Christy Moore sings it. Not sure who wrote it. Was a lovely version of the song. Darcy's guests do great versions of songs, Bell X1 did an absolute savage version of Goin' Back by Dusty Springfield last week. Used to be on a ESB ad in the late 80's.
I would love to get a copy of some of the live covers on the show. Fred today di a cover of Neil Youngs Only love can break your heart. Excellent version.
You're not alone there - it's of "unknown origin". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lakes_of_Pontchartrain
Paul Brady does an excellent version of it.
I have been known to sing it myself on occasion.
i heard them talking about it but missed them singing, not a fan of the coronas, but i love that song , thought it might turn me ! lol.
