Genre: Court Room Drama
Cast: Dylan McDermott, Michael Badalucco, Lisa Gay Hamilton,Steve Harris, Camryn Manheim, Kelli Williams, Lara Flynn Boyle, Marla Sokoloff, Jason Kravits, Ron Livingston, Jessica Capshaw, Chyler Leigh, Rhona Mitra, James Spader
Status: 8 Seasons, 1997 - 2004, Ended

Description: Set in a Boston law firm of Donnell, Young, Dole, & Frutt. The lawyers take on the cases of criminals and the less well off. Unlike many TV law firms the firm is set in an old run down office. They lack an obsession with money but rather defending their clients. Kelli Williams' character Linsay Dole has other aspirations and is not liked by her colligues when she first starts with the firm. The series was set with problems in the states, with ABC placing it up against major sporting events and constantly moving its time slot. However the series had strong ratings, critical acclaim and many awards. The series also moved away from the "hollywood" stereotypical actor. Michael Badalucco, Steve Harris and Camryn Manheim are possibly the strongest part of the cast even though they don't have the looks of Kelli Williams or Dylan McDermott (who IMO happen to be the weakest of the actors, yet it remains a strong cast).

Much of the cast left by the end of the series, due to pay demands and pay cuts. Leaving the series to become Boston Legal (its working title was The Practice: Fleet Street, it was expect that it would become a franchise like Law & Order with The Practice continuing during Boston Legals run however The Practice was replaced by a more Ally McBeal type series).

The series had multiply crossovers with other David E. Kelly created productions such as Ally McBeal and Boston Public, Eugene Young (Steve Harris) became a judge in Boston Legal.

Watch this if you like: The Good Wife, Damages (The final few series become much lighter and more like other David E. Kelly drama's such as Ally McBeal and Boston Legal).

Title: Breakout Kings

Status: 2 seasons so far,

Description: The US Marshall service puts together a team of marshalls & convicts to track down escaped fugitives. In exchange for every captured runner, the convicts get 1 month off their sentence.

It started out pretty good but very procedure like, I've just finished season 2 and it's gotten way better. Pretty much all the small flaws that it suffered from in season 1 have been sorted out, WAY more character development. Season 2 finale was insane

Title: Shameless US Version
Genre: Light Drama |
Cast: William H Macy; Emmy Rossum
Status: In 2nd season on RTE 2.

This is quite different to the very long-running Channel 4 British series on which it is roughly based, although the originator of the UK Version, Paul Abbot, is co-producer with John Wells (not the late British humourist of the same name)
The US version is less sordid than the British one but no less gritty, authentic, funny and more explicit in places. Shameless US captures an American version of the British theme but with better casting, directing and script.
