If I can sweet talk the sis into putting the films back onto the drive for me I will give it a go. Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

Thanks for the suggestions, fortunately I didn't have to do anything too drastic. I left clicked on the properties, opened the Autoplay, clicked on every application and ticked "Take no action" for each one. Now the drive opens with a double-click

Thanks again for the suggestions. Hope this helps anyone in the same predicament.
