Solar Charger for Diesel Gennie???

The Battery has died for starting a larrge Diesel Gennie.
Was just wondering if it is Viable to hook up a small Solar Charger to new Batter to act as trickle charger...Am not too good with at remembering to start the bloody thing on rainy days...

Easy to do with a small solar panel producing 18 volts and 5 amps with a solar controller suitably sized with some proper cable, connectors and fuses.

there is a little trickle charger that costs about £12 from www.cpc.co.uk
ex conversion and delivery

I bought one for a lawnmower and it seemed to do the trick, I left the panel in the shed window, and it had clamps like a set of jump leads, very easy to use.
