Donegal people drive like LUNATICS-says Gay Bryne

Gay Byrne is live on TV3 right now,and hes absolutely lambasting Donegal People, and claiming that they are the worst drivers in Ireland and drive like "lunatics".

Well done Gay Byrne, great way to make friends with Donegal people......

I love sweeping generalisations so I whole-heartedly support him.

BUT ITS TRUE - mostly.

They are car mad up there and add in the headers from Derry who use the dual carraigeway as a race track, you have some serious fun and games.

There is an element of truth in that. The boys racers are complete gob****es.

All this complaining about bad roads, yet (take the back roads out of the equation) the roads are no worse than other areas of the country, road to Sligo - Derry is sound. That complaint is often a cop out

Why do the cops do damn all. The boy racers blantly meet up on Sunday night without any pretence and speed around the LetterKenny to Derry Road

What an ambassador for road safety.

It's not really a myth. Most dealerships wont touch a DL reg car for a trade in because the roads are in bits and the cars have been driven hard. Just ask one!

The N15 is a fine road now, but it needs speed enforcement.

My mum got wiped out on the brow of a hill, on a continuous white line by a boy racer overtaking. He never noticed a car full of aul ones coming home from bingo turning right.

Idiot was driving on his dads company insurance, and had crashed before.

The only words that come to mind nowadays when I hear anything this way-past-his-sell-by-date creep says are: "ga-ga".

Criticism of stereo-typing noted.
