Am I paying too much (56€ pm 3Mb 60GB)?

I'm with Imagine.ie since 2006 and still paying the same amount since then.

I pay 56€ per month.

I get:

3Mb/s -> that is 320KB/s down
0.33Mb/s -> that is about 38KB/s up

60GB per month download cap / unlimited upload (but within ToS)

National call at a flat rate (forget actual rate)

Is this too expensive?

The reason I ask is i've been wondering about a faster speed because downloading games with Steam platform are a nightmare @ 320KB/s considering a lot of games now are 8-14 GB in size.

But also for the first time ever, Imagine are getting sloppy imo, my upload speed is laggy since Thursday night, it uploads, hangs, uploads more hangs then often times out. I tried uploading with a different pc, uploading to different websites and uploading to my webhosting account everything way slow, laggy and painful. Rang them thursday evening no help, email 3 times no help.

So first off I want (need) faster speeds and Imagine are getting messy lately so maybe it's time to move?

Have a look for yourself

http://www.upc.ie/broadband/

If you can afford UPC and its in your area, i'd say go for it.

If you're not sure, enter you address on the right hand side here:

It will tell you what services are available to you.

No harm giving UPC a call to see if a cable line is close to you. The speeds and prices are far greater than Imagine.

Even voda can beat that, http://www.vodafone.ie/df/homebroadband/. Just shows that moving provider every so often does get you a better deal

UPC's broadband service has nothing to do with the phone line that Imagine currently deliver your broadband through.It comes through the same co-axial cable as your cable TV does if you are in a UPC cabled area.
