Fcuking eijits. Fair enough them thinking that, but to express it on a public social networking site, what were they thinking?

They did nothing wrong whatsoever. Shows class that they'd congratulate them. Twitter is full of idiots.

Would you prefer if they tweeted that they hate Chelsea and they didn't deserve to win ?

All they have done is congratulate a victorious opponent. Did Ian Holloway disgrace Blackpool yesterday when he congratulated Sam Allardyce ? It happens in all sports where there is a winner and a loser. Sitting there moping about doesn't do anyone any favours.

Here's a quote from the article quoting Saha ...

Quote:
‘No CL for Tottenham but FairPlay to Chelsea. Great victory great final for them.

The Frenchman added: ‘If we had lost with Spurs the final of CL against Chelsea and Drogba had played like yesterday i would have congrats them the same way.

‘U can hate me if u want. U can hate everyone if u want. U wont make me hate football and the view of winners. #fairplay even if gutted.’
He's expressed the fact he was gutted but was happy to congratulate the winning team. There's **** all wrong with that, it's not being a weak mister nice guy etc. All it was was simply acknowledging Chelsea's achievement.

I'm as gutted as anyone here - check my posts from last night - I was like a demon, I'm very very pissed off that we aren't in the CL, It sucks and it's beyond unfair IMO but that doesn't mean I can't say fair play to Chelsea for taking their chance.

Why didn't they keep there thoughts to themselves instead of sharing them with millions knowing it would upset some. I suppose one of them is hopefully leaving anyway and the other one is angling for a move too so they deemed it ok. Fcuk the pair of them. Call me bitter if you like. As I said, reverse the roles, would terry, lampard, cole and the likes be congratulating us, i think not...

Also, your comparison to Blackpool/West Ham is mind boggling.

Wouldn't expect any kind of class whatsoever from those players. Definitely wouldn't expect any congratulations from them. I'd like to think our players are nothing like them.

I agree with Pageant Messiah tbh. These things on twitter are easily taken out of context.

Worryingly it shows just how little the modern footballer cares about anything more then their pay packet. It would be nice if one of our players came out and was genuinely annoyed and worked up about missing out on CL next season but they are too busy getting a tan on a yacht in the med by now or getting ready to put themselves in the shop window at the euro's.

There's a big difference between congratulating a winning team when you've just lost to them (i.e. Holloway) and doing what Saha and Pienaar did. Gumps, the pair of them.

They should have stayed quiet in fairness. A little bit of sensitivity towards the people who pay their wages should come before any congrats to fellow pros.
