Kawasaki KLE 500 road tax

guys i just bought today a lovely bike.

http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/motorbikes/2967994

but it was not taxed from 10/11

anyone know if it will be easy to get a new tax for me or do i have to anything special? like pay some fee?

Form RF100a from the cops.
Tax it from when you bought it.
Previous non taxed period is none of your concern.

yeh i saw the form, so basicaly i can just go to road tax office and tax it from date af purchase, which is today? there is nothing extra that i have to do? sorry for asking twice but i just wanna make sure i am clear on this.

Can they tax it without having the VLC in their name? Which usually takes a couple of weeks.

yeh thats what i though so. no logbook yet so i dont think i can get it taxed without it. anyone can confirm this?

Doesn't that push back the date from which you have to pay?

If you time it right it could save you a month

i dont mind paying the full tax --> its 82e -->but the bike is not taxed. i honestly dont care about 8e save for one month, i just wanna drive it legal.

There shouldn't be any problem if you're waiting for the people in Shannon to do their thing. Maybe keep a photocopy on you of what you sent off, if you're worried!

No, Motor Tax is based on the sale date not the date you get the VLC changed over to your name

Shannon have their act together at the moment. Changes are processed pretty quickly. And yeah, tax payable from the date you put on the change of owner on the old vrc which you send to them.

I made already 200 miles. 170 in rain and wind. Then 3 hours polishing.


Thanks for responds guys. Logbook was send yesterday so once i will have it i will head to road tax office.
