Rear Seatbelts and the NCT Test??

My girlfriends car is due to go for its NCT on Wednesday.

The middle seatbelt unit in the rear of the car got broken and doesnt work so it was removed from the car and the back seat.

So the car only has 2 seatbelts in the back, instead of the usual 3 seatbelts.

Will the NCT tester fail the car on this matter?

Thanks.

A lap and diagonal or lap type safety belt is not provided for all other forward facing seats.
You can chance it though, it's a visual retest.

Depends if they cop that it's actually meant to have a 5th seatbelt, some cars just don't have a middle one as they're not intended for carrying a 5th person

If the VLC says 5 seats it needs 5 seatbelts or it will fail.

What car is it ?
You should be able to pick one up from a scrapyard....sorry, Car Dismantler.
As long as it isn't frayed and clicks into place solidly it should be fine.

The car failed the test today on 3 things.

Missing rear seatbelt (as you all said here)
Small crack in glass on passenger wing mirror
Drivers side windscreen wiper starting to peel off at the end.

Tester told my girlfriend that its only a visual retest and to come back with in 28 days.

Breakers yard for the seatbelt, motorfactors for the mirror glass and wipers. If your fitting yourself, I wouldn't expect the lot to cost more then €50ish
