I have recently downloaded some films but they have all been downloaded in .mkv format. I have tried to convert them to avi using "Format Factory" but this is so slow and would take about 3-4 hours to change the format of 1 movie.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get these videos to play on my PS3??

I am currently using a Compaq Presario CQ57 Notebook with an AMD C-50 1.00 GHz processor, 2.00GB RAM and a 64-bit Windows7 operating system to try convert them.

I'm having exactly the same problem with the xbox. Also tried Format factory and you're right, So slow.

Use mkv2vob on the mkv and copy over using PS3MediaServer, or just stream using PS3MediaSever. Simples!

Gotsent is a great programme. Thats what I use. Converts the mkv file to mp4 in a matter of minutes or less.

the ps3 will play some .mkv's if you change the file extension (to .mp4 or .avi)
