Metal Gear Solid HD trilogy for PS3 on the way.

According to several sources who claim to have it on authority from the UK's official Playstation mag.

http://www.gamingunion.net/news/thro...ing--3729.html

Seemingly MGS, MGS2 & MGS3 will be given a good going over with some lovely HD polish.
Further details still thin on the ground but I'd gladly snap this up if it does materialise.

Any thoughts?

Interesting. The price would have to be right though, and no doubt they'll make it pricey.

I all ready have MGS2 and 3 for ps2 and got MGS1 from PSN (Twice the price of most games. Damn my original breaking!)

It would be interesting to see how they look in HD though. Especially 3

That said though, MGS 2 was beautiful to look at, and I liked the look of 3. Suited the atmosphere.

I'd feel compelled to get the Platinums in each of these. Maybe Konami will surprise us with a trophy patch for 4 to complete the saga?!

For MGS1, hopefully PSX version as the template rather than Twin Snakes. Some strange choices made in that latter version.

And naturally, for MGS3, the Subsistence version used.

Absolutely. I haven't played The Twin Snakes (although I've seen some of the cut-scenes on Youtube), but it has to be the PSX version. In fact I'd say they might not be able to use the TTS version anyway as that was for Nintendo.

And I agree about the Subsistence version of MGS3 as well. The 3D camera was a godsend in that game.

If they just reused all of the original dialogue from MGS1 and didn't throw in the stupid over the top cutscenes like Snake jumping and skipping over Hind missiles, Twin Snakes could have had potential. That's why I'll always prefer the original. The voice acting and accents are crap on the Gamecube.

Really looking forward to this if it turns out to be true. Am I wrong for hoping MGS3 would be in HD AND bumped up to 60FPS like MGS2? Probably, but a man can dream!

The gameply of TTS is far superior for obvious reasons but it's the sound design that breaks the game for me.
The music in MGS was perfect and still stands up today, why they ever bothered messing with it is beyond me.

I'd say we'll get the Playstation version of MGS, what would be nice would be the Integral version, although that might be wishful thinking.

MGS2 would have to be the Substance version, and as stated before the Subsistance version of MGS3 would be essential.
If we got bonuses from each game like the VR mssions from MGS, the document of MGS2 and the bonus content from Subsistance(PS2 multi player obviously aside) it would make the package a classic.

Hopefully there's some more news about this soon.

I think adding gameplay additions from MGS2 totally broke Twin Snakes and made it a worse game which is why I'd rather the MGS1 version on this collection is based on the PS1 original.

It pisses all over 2 and 4.
Definitely up there with 1.
A lot of peoples favourite would be either 1 or 3 and both would have valid arguments for being considered the best in the series.

I think 1 is the one which sticks in peoples minds more, and is the classic MGS game. MGS3 is the better game though in my opinion. Quite possibly the greatest game I have ever played.

I wouldn't say it's much better than 1. They are both classics.
I love them both and could make good arguments for either game being better than the other.

Whats do you mean by "Skerries"?
I know where Skerries is, but in relation to MGS.

Is a great game. Also my first foray into online gaming. Had great fun playing the original MGO.

I'd be inclined to agree, if MGS weren't already available on PSN. Including Twin Snakes would make more sense, since so few people got the chance to play it. It'd also stop the eBay scalpers from selling copies for silly prices.

It'll never happen, but it'd be amazing if they altered Twin Snakes' OTT cutscenes and used the original voice acting!

Hopefully the collection will be the ultimate package and contain all of the extras from Substance and Subsistence. And the dogtags! I loved getting them all in 2.
